THE TOP SEVEN SEED SCENARIOS

ODU #1 seed with win over VCU.

If ODU loses and NU wins, NU is #1 and ODU #2 (NU 1-0 vs. ODU).

If NU beats Mason, they clinch at least the #2 seed.

NU cannot be lower than the #2 seed. Mason cannot be higher than the #3 seed, nor lower than the #4 seed. (they split, NU 1-0 vs. ODU and Mason 1-1 vs. ODU.)

If Mason wins, they are the #3 seed.

If Mason loses, W&M wins, and VCU loses (creating a tie between Mason and W&M), W&M is the #3 seed, and Mason is the #4 seed (based on W&M 1-0 vs. Mason). VCU is the #5 seed.

If Mason and W&M lose, and VCU wins (creating a tie between Mason and VCU), seeds are Mason #3, VCU #4, W&M #5.

If Mason loses, W&M wins, and VCU wins (creating a three-way tie), seeds are W&M #3, Mason #4, VCU #5.

Breathe. We’ve now got every scenario for the top five if VCU beats ODU. Breathe again.

Now:

If VCU loses to ODU and both W&M and Drexel lose (creating a tie between W&M and VCU): VCU is #4, W&M #5 (based on season split and VCU 1-1 againt ODU and W&M 0-2)

If VCU loses to ODU, and W&M and Drexel win (creating tie between Drexel/VCU), then W&M #4, VCU #5, Drexel #6 (based on H2H split and Drexel 0-1 vs. ODU)

If Drexel wins and VCU and W&M loses (creating a three way tie), then W&M #4 (3-1 vs. Drex/VCU), VCU #5 (2-2 vs. WM/Drex), and Drexel #6 (1-3 vs. WM/VCU).

Egad, we may not be halfway home. The bottom five are even messier. Might be easier to go bottoms up, literally!

Delaware is the #12 seed, based on 0-1 vs. JMU.
