This coming Monday, February 4th, Towson men’s basketball will be hosting an Autism Awareness Night when the team takes on UNC Wilmington at 7 p.m.

Towson’s Athletics Department has been working with the university’s Hussman Center for Adults with Autism to help raise awareness. As a result of these efforts the upcoming Autism Awareness Night means a good deal to the department’s coaches, players and staff.

There will be many Autism groups in attendance (Itineris, Pathfinders, Autism Speaks, Kennedy Krieger, and the Hussman Center) and they will have informational tables set up at the game.

The Towson men’s basketball team and coaches will be wearing commemorative royal blue shoes.

The color royal blue is the color of Autism Speaks.

For more details please visit Towson’s Athletic Site.

This is another admirable philanthropic effort from a #caahoops squad. Last weekend each school participated in the Coaches vs. Cancer Suits & Sneakers Weekend. We’ve enjoyed Ron Hunter’s Barefoot for Bare Feet game over the last two seasons. If you’re in Baltimore, consider a trip to the Towson Center on Monday night to learn more about Autism.
