A perfectly awful EESH! this morning, in the best Mr. Wong from Norbit.

Lots of Blue Ribbon chatter, and the book’s head honcho, Chris Dortsch, tells me it is on the printer and on its way very soon. In this video, produced with EA Sports for its new college basketball video game, Dortsch sums it up best when he says it is the “junkies guide to basketball.”

One more “the world is small” note. Jim Calhoun landed a kid by the name of Jeremy Lamb in the recent recruiting binge. Why is that name familiar, and important?

Jeremy’s dad, Rolando, played for VCU and hit a buzzer beater to defeat Calhoun and his Northeastern Huskies in the 1984 NCAA tournament.

Side note: I didn’t realize Bill Raftery was doing NCAA tournament games that long ago.

One Response to “Monday? Monday…”

  1. NUHF Says:

Can we just destroy that video?

A couple of more tidbits/trivia from that game…

What people don’t remember is that current Penn Coach (and former Brown coach) Glenn Miller is the “Miller” the announcers refer to in the video as missing the free throw which allowed Lamb’s shot to be the game winner instead of the tying shot. He’s the white dude sitting on the floor with the towel around his neck.

Former NU/DePaul and UVA coach Dave Leitao also played in that game as did a real skinny freshman from Northeastern named Reggie Lewis.
