So this just struck me, and I’ll give it more thought tomorrow to alleviate lamenting a declining golf game…
Eamonn Brennan tweeted a bit ago that “2009 is: Having someone you know get in a car accident, and confirming they’re OK from their hospital bed via Gchat mobile.”
This made me think that I added a note [...]

For whatever reason, we’re thrilled at CAA: LAMM that today is Friday. Long week, and I get another stab at saving a lagging golf game tomorrow morning…
Only on a Friday would I offer up some officiating statistics:

Tony Dawkins called more CAA games (14) than any other official.
Stop whining about the Levy-inspired over-officious jerks. There were [...]

We’ll start with Brendan O’Hallarn at ODU, and I apologize to all for being tardy with the link. O’Hallarn is “embedded” with the Monarchs team this year and is doing a very good job. The reports are lengthy and chock full of detail but I’m wagering that’s exactly what you want. Have at it. You [...]

EDIT: Commentor BK asked a legit question, which was didn’t I just say yesterday that Bruiser Flint did more with less? Yes, but I used poor words in describing the difference. I addressed it in the comments with: I feel like Bruiser gets short-shafted by everyone for not being a good coach. Flint has won [...]

This is the time of year when anything is possible, and nothing is off limits.
Want proof? Ousman Krubally, the 6-6 Georgia State energy drink who invariably turns around on the bus and catches someone in the eye with an unintentional stray elbow, put up 28 points and 13 rebounds in an intrasquad scrimmage. Krubally scored [...]

Leadership entry is coming. It’s taking a little longer than expected–there is philosophy and is therefore more like a good chili: needs to cook awhile…
That said, I frequently refer to my personal All CAA Favorite Player Team. Since it’s preseason, this is the perfect time to unveil it:
Cornelius Vines, Hofstra: Vines defines fun-to-watch. He has [...]

Mull writes on The Dub (EDIT: I don’t pay particular attention to numbers in these things, but 11/10 from OhHayErBee should give Dub fans the warm fuzzies, as well as the expected impact from John Fields.)
Beach gives us Hofstra (EDIT: fantastic write up, and pay particular attention to the quotes from Charles Jenkins. He sounds [...]

Hoo-baby, yesterday was fun. Busy, but fun. Media day, at least for the CAA, is well worth the effort for everyone involved.
The national trend is to eschew a gathering. Many conferences are opting for the heap-big online info fest, complete with boiler-plate quotes from coaches and boiler-plate statistics from the SIDs. Every now and again [...]

Methinks we’re going to have to wrap it up…fast doings today, but it is important to note that events like this are very important. The trend is away from Media Days (and media guides), but they are vital.
More on that later, and in an effort to be quick:
Bruiser went head-on with Mo Cheeks and the [...]
