Five games today, led and highlighted by Mason and Villanova at 2:00pm.

All of today’s viewing (and listening) options are here

Kish with a great rundown of Mason links

EDIT: Mull’s UNCW/Penn State Gameday preview, with items from Penn State message board admin. Very good stuff, except for the taunting about weather and food updates. (Salami sandwich and rain for me, Brian! !)

***

Mason vs. Villanova (Puerto Rico): Jerry Beach undoubtedly has issue with this game. He’s a Hofstra guy and ‘Nova head man Jay Wright coached at Hofstra. Because he’s a Hofstra guy and was alive in 2006, Beach harbors some, uh, strong emotion towards George Mason. Come on Jerry, the past is the past. I’m not saying you have to root for Mason, but you certainly cannot root against them. Take a Tums, and focus on Farmingdale. Nova 84, Mason 75.

UNCW vs. Penn State (Charleston): Thanks to Mull, here’s the Penn State stat box. They have a lot of funny names on that team. Akeem Olajuwon was a funny name, too. Nittany 78, Teal 66.

ODU at Liberty: The Flames lost to Mason in a close game, and lost to Clemson by 40. Clemson is coached by Ollie Purnell, former ODU player and coach. Lady Liberty sits in the New York harbor, and the Lady Monarchs have been dominating in the CAA. ODU 74, Liberty 58.

Richmond at William & Mary: As much as CAA fans may hate it, the fact is that Richmond is a darn good basketball team this year. The Spiders lost to VMI last year, and beat them by about 458 points this year. Dan Geriot was named to the A10 preseason all conference team, and he didn’t even play last year. And stop with this Princeton offense stuff. They don’t play that. I’m still of the mind that this should be a conference game, and that the Tribe will fall to 0-1 in conference play. Spiders 76, Tribe 66.

Come on, Beach!! Give Peace a Chance, my CAA brotha!! GO MASON!!

With a Richmond grad for a brother, and a niece currently attending the university, I have to root for Richmond even if they deserted the CAA for “greener” pastures. Go Spiders…no offense to W&M – I like your program a lot, too.
