We love the SIDs around these parts. They are our kinda people. When the second paragraph of a scrimmage report is definitive to say “the game wasn’t as close as the score indicated,” you know they are doing their job well. Of note in the Ga State scrim: Xavier Hansbro looked very good, and even though he didn’t particularly say it, Rod Barnes is displeased.
Told you (last year) to look out for Cal Lee. The kid is going to be a handful. I smell the first nickname for 2009-10: Calvin Lee, aka The Handful.
Speaking of handfuls, we’re big fans of what’s going on in Harrisonburg. This bunch could be scary good once they get their beef onto the court, especially if this holds true.
Thanks Kish–a link to one of the nation’s best writers, who reminds us of the CAA version of The Punch.

…and once again…more validation on the classiness of Jim Larranaga and how he runs his team.

Classiness? He did what he should have done as a coach. I don’t think that’s an indication of Coach L’s “Class”.
It’s called doing what’s right and being a human. I’m not knocking what Coach L did, but let’s not canonize him for doing what is right.
Class is when Bill Coen went to the hospital after your player got knocked out of the game at Northeastern to check up on him.

Well, NUHF…I agree. And I’ve said that about Coen before, on this site and my own blog. RELAX. We’re both lucky to have two CLASSY, professional, and good coaches in charge of our programs. You don’t have to act like a jerk. Cheer for your team, but at least be respectful of others who are just as proud of their alma mater (I’m assuming you graduated from Northeastern).
GO MASON.

…and one other thing: Litos has proven that there are many of us who are fans of our individual teams, but just as much a fan of the CAA. I would be one of them, going back to my days watching UR/Navy @ UR before I entered Mason in 1990 and started bleeding green & gold. Win or lose, I’ll always be rooting for the CAA rep (or two…some years…) in the Big Dance. If that’s the kind of attitude you don’t share, maybe you should find a different blog.
