The emails came pouring in last night, every one of them just after the computer had been shut down. I’ve laughed all morning. They ranged from the simple two-word missive (”holy crap”) to the multi-paragraph monsters fueled by exuberance and alcohol.
The best of the bunch came from one of my favorite people. It read:
“I hope William & Mary’s win at Maryland doesn’t hurt their RPI too much.”
And that, my friends, is a summation.
Here’s where you can find multiple accounts from real, live newspaper people (thanks to the good folks at CAA Zone).

Here’s a smidgen of advice: don’t overanalyze this. Enjoy it. Have fun watching the national guys jump aboard the bandwagon we have been riding. Enjoy Gary Williams whine. Read the folks who have the most invested and feel their pride swell. Enjoy it with them.
Any attempt to compartmentalize the victory will cheapen its fun for you. Spend two days in the pure delight of college basketball.
We’ll start framing it all on Saturday, when the conference season begins and The Fightin’ Pugs travel to Long Island, where Chuck Jenkins awaits…

And yes, there will be more later today.

I think the Pugs are trying to make an NCAA Final Four run, like Mason did.
